Neil Postman’s book Entertaining Ourselves to Death is a great read, filled with a thesis of changing times based on technology. Literacy and the ability to read empowers those who embrace the acquisition of knowledge.
Knowledge of the scriptures and the love of God is reflected in the Bible. The calls for discipleship are belief in the higher power of God through Jesus. It requires a change of heart leading to a change in your actions. Embrace love. Abstain from evil things and thoughts. Serve others. Help others. In this pursuit, the beginning is founded on your curiosity to seek God through His word.
What is stopping you? Work preventing your dedication? Not enough time? Not enough money? Have something else to do? Maybe the game is on? Can’t miss our favorite show. Be careful, because you might miss salvation for your soul while you’re watching the big game.
